The Twitch

Bonepartes Gull at Newbiggin, 10th September 2006Twitching has become an essential part of expanding my birding list and I always consider chasing the rarity and any new birds when the time allows.

Twitching rarities both inside and outside the county will often be arranged at very short notice. If any local birders would like to be considered for these trips, please pass on your details via the contact me page, which will give me the opportunity to ask if you would like to share expenses.

If I don’t have your details, I will not be able to contact you and therefore will not be able to offer you a place.

Recent twitches outside the county have included the White–tailed Lapwing at Caerlaveroch and the Black–eared Kite at Snettisham.

If you are twitching the birds in County Durham, please contact me and a local guide can be arranged. Birds such as Black Grouse, Red Grouse, Purple Sandpiper, Red Kite and Roseate Tern have all been target birds for recent clients.
